As an ECA mentor or coach, you can contribute your expertise to Europe’s innovation ecosystem and support ambitious companies on their growth journey.
Mentoring is voluntary, flexible and experience-based. As a mentor, you act as a sparring partner, share lessons learned and help members think through strategic or professional challenges.
Coaching is paid, structured and outcome-oriented. As a coach, you support members through defined sessions focused on specific goals such as leadership development, scaling, go-to-market, fundraising preparation, operations or team performance.
Many experts can offer both, depending on their background, availability and the needs of the member.
We keep the process simple, but selective. Every mentor and coach is reviewed before receiving full access to the platform.
1. Express your interest
Send us a short request and let us know whether you would like to join as a mentor, coach, advisor or a combination of these roles.
2. Join a short introduction call
We will schedule a 15-minute introduction call to understand your background, expertise, motivation and fit with the program.
3. Confirm or become an ECA member
Mentors and coaches need to be ECA members or become members before being activated. Individual membership is possible.
4. Receive platform access
After the introduction call and membership confirmation, you receive access to the ECA Mentoring & Coaching Platform.
5. Add your expertise
You create your expert profile, including your areas of expertise, preferred topics, languages, availability and whether you offer mentoring, coaching or both.
6. Become eligible for requests
Once your profile is reviewed and approved, you can become eligible for mentoring and coaching requests from ECA members
Yes. Mentors and coaches need to be ECA members or become members before being activated on the platform. Individual membership is possible.
Yes. You do not need to represent a company. Individual experts can apply to become mentors, coaches or advisors.

Yes. Depending on your expertise and preferences, you may offer mentoring, coaching or both.
There is no full-time commitment. You decide your availability and whether you want to accept a specific request.
Members submit their support needs through the platform. ECA and the platform help match requests with suitable experts based on topic, experience, language, availability and context.
You will be invited to a short 15-minute introduction call. If there is a fit and your ECA membership is confirmed, you receive access to the platform and can create your expert profile.
