The European Champions Alliance is pleased to welcome Myra Security as a new member.
Based in Munich, Myra Security has been a long-standing European cybersecurity player, protecting mission-critical digital infrastructures for public institutions and organisations operating at the highest levels of exposure. Beyond technology, Myra’s decision to join the ECA is driven by a clear, well-articulated vision of European technological sovereignty and freedom of choice.
As part of their membership, Myra Security shared the following statement by Paul Kaffsack, Managing Director at Myra Security GmbH:
“We at Myra Security share the European Champions Alliance’s (ECA) commitment to strengthening European technology and cultivating an ecosystem based on European values: trust, accountability, and strategic autonomy. A key motivation for Myra and me personally is building true freedom of choice.
Currently, European providers hold a significantly smaller market share in most technology sectors. Europe continues to rely heavily on non-EU vendors for essential software and digital platforms. Unfortunately, the value chain remains predominantly external. This leads to heavy technological dependence and limits strategic options for European organisations.
We intend to contribute to this transformation by increasing the visibility of European solutions and by collectively strengthening the European tech sector. Anyone who operates digital infrastructure in Europe or consciously uses European solutions is operating within a clearly defined data protection area. This avoids international legal uncertainties and structurally safeguards the protection of sensitive company and customer data. As a result, compliance becomes not a risk factor, but an integral part of operational resilience and corporate value creation.
Our daily work supports this goal by protecting the availability of mission-critical digital services. Myra offers a security-as-a-service platform for websites, portals, and APIs. We take a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity, integrating DDoS mitigation at the network and transport layers with application-layer security.
Our forward-thinking spirit is deeply rooted in the historical legacy of Myra. Sascha Schumann and I founded the company back in 2012 in Munich. Federal and European agencies, companies, and organisations, such as the Munich Security Conference (MSC), rely on our technology to safeguard their digital infrastructure. For the eleventh consecutive year, the MSC has placed its trust in our successful and high-performance protection. This fills us with pride but also represents a constant commitment.
I look forward to collaborating with the ECA community to accelerate the development of a more resilient and sovereign digital ecosystem. Together, we can build a technological landscape based on genuine choice.”
This statement strongly resonates with the ECA’s mission: reinforcing Europe’s capacity to design, operate, and secure its own digital infrastructure, in accordance with European law and aligned with European values.
We are glad to welcome Myra Security into the Alliance and look forward to working together to strengthen Europe’s cybersecurity ecosystem.
Welcome to the ECA.
