REDUCE THE DIGITAL DEPENDENCY OF EUROPEAN ORGANIZATIONS
Several initiatives have started to measure the degree of digital dependency of organizations across Europe. The final objective is to kick off awareness of the associated risks, and therefore action to slash such dependency. In France, an index of Digital Resilience (IRN) has been launched with, among others, the support of Caisse des Dépôts Group.
Other initiatives exist, such as DDI Digital Dependence Index, by the University of Bonn, EDRIX European Digital Resilience Index, or SEAL, a Cloud Sovereignty Framework used by the European Commission (DG DIGIT). During IN CYBER FORUM in Lille on April 1st, the ECA has organized a debate on IRN with Arno Pons (which coordinates the initiative), Arnaud Martin, Operations Risks Director at CDC Group, Ralf Kleinfeld, Board member of the German CISO ALLIANCE, and Aernout Reijmer, former CISO of ASML group, now director of CYBER ALLOY. The participants concurred on the interest of “Europeanizing” these actions, and carrying them at EXCOs and Boards level as top management is responsible of making sure risks supported by an organization should be as reduced and mitigated as possible. We will continue to help this ball roll!

Then EUDI will progressively embark other items, such as digital certificates, proof of address, IBAN…
META TURNS EMPLOYEES’ KEYBOARDS INTO MASSIVE DATA CAPTURE
According to reports, among others from REUTERS, META is now registering its employees’ computer mouse moves, clicks, keyboard actions and some display copies. The objective is to train an AI system to undertake some plain office tasks. So META develops what in Europe would be considered massive spying, to prepare the tools which will eliminate the same employees tomorrow …Another element which AI systems builders should take the time to think on… before they are out of business.
