SCALEWAY SPEEDS UP

At the ai-PULSE event on October 13, 2026, at Station F in Paris, Xavier Niel’s Iliad group’s cloud subsidiary announced new infrastructure, expansion of its AI model catalog. It will  be easier to move from testing to production.

Scaleway was selected as part of the European Commission’s Cloud III program and by the Health Data Hub, and announced a deal with Airbus. In Sweden, Scaleway plans its first supercomputer equipped with AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, a competitor to Nvidia. Touted as the first European commercial AI supercomputer based on AMD, it will be available to startups and businesses. The software catalog available through the Generative APIs interfaces now includes over 40 AI models so that businesses can choose the technologies that best suit their needs, this includes French as well as Chinese models.

  1. Germany and Nvidia team up on industrial AI

Merz is due to announce it on October 19t (19 Oct) at the “Invest in Germany” summit. The government plans to put in a sum in the hundreds of millions of euros. The focus is AI for robots, cars and factories, with Siemens, Audi and Black Forest Labs among the partners and computing power rented from Telekom’s AI cloud. It’s very timely and fits the European-champions theme.

  1. Nvidia buys a stake in Doctolib to build “sovereign” health AI

Nvidia is taking a minority stake, amount not disclosed. Doctolib wants its own AI models trained on its own data, so it doesn’t depend on OpenAI or Anthropic. Doctolib is a French tech champion, so check whether it’s an ECA member; this could also go under Members.
