D–STACK TO PROVIDE A SOVEREIGN COHERENT TECHNOLOGICAL PILE TO GERMAN ADMINISTRATIONS

Thanks to the D-STACK project, the German administrations will get their own, sovereign and coherent, technological pile. The idea is to define an unique frame, from data infrastructure and orchestration to middle ware and to applications and AI usage. This frame will be common to all administrations, hence stopping the dispersion of efforts. It will be based on European software, and will embark pieces of software already developed when possible, instead of re-inventing everything (think of France …)

 

META AND ALPHABET CONDEMNED BY A CALIFORNIAN COURT

The two giants have been judged guilty of triggering social networks addiction among young people, thanks to their methods: algorithms, likes etc. The court, which has taken in consideration the case of a teenager strongly perturbated and having developed suicide thoughts., has decided a fine of 6 M$ for each platform. The two defenders have decided to appeal the decision. On their side, TIK TOK and SNAPCHAT have preferred to negotiate compensation. META has also been condemned by another court for the same reasons. In fact hundreds of trials are scheduled in the USA on the same ground.

 

GROK AND SEXUALISED DEEPFAKES ON THE HOT SEAT IN EUROPE

The EU Parliament proposes to ban sexualised deepfakes in Europe. Meanwhile, the Dutch Justice has decided GROK and XAI are no more authorized to produce sexualized content relying on persons having their residence in the Netherlands. In case of violation a 100 000 € fine per day will be charged.

At the same time the EU Parliament proposes to delay the application AI Act, to give more time to systems providers to adapt to the rules and therefore avoid freezing innovation in Europe.
